Assurant Specialty Property Expands Renters Insurance Program with Property Manager Legacy Partners

ATLANTA: Assurant Specialty Property has expanded its renters insurance program with Legacy Partners, a leader in commercial and residential real estate, to 12 additional Legacy managed properties.

Assurant Specialty Property said the expansion of its partnership with Foster City, Calif.-based company was the result of a successful pilot program launched in April 2007 at three properties. The program has been extended to include a total of 15 properties and more than 3,600 units.

Mike King, regional vice president of Legacy Partners Residential, says most of Legacy’s properties offer renters insurance and that tenants are typically interested in purchasing the coverage. "Assurant has made it so affordable and convenient [to buy renters insurance] that there is virtually no impediment in convincing people to enroll," King said.
